I'm physically challenged after 8 years of depression.

Hi! My name is Mendi Segal.

After being sedentary during 8 years of severe depression, I have to retrain myself to walk again. I can't stand up without tremendous pain. For the past 2 months, the pain has been so bad I've been unable to leave my 2nd-floor apartment. I had to cancel an important dental appointment two weeks ago. I am currently trying to find a doctor who would be willing to examine me in my apartment.

I am unable to work a normal job. I'm trying to find some type of work that I can do at home. It hasn't been easy to find something for which I am qualified. I can't even sit up normally at a table for more than an hour without great discomfort, as--in addition to my challenges caused by not walking very much for so long--I have a torn meniscus in my right knee, a floating bone fragment in my left knee, and a problematic right hip, due to a nasty fall I had a few years ago.

I desperately need funds to pay the rent and other bills for--at least--the next year or so, while I can get some therapy (Hopefully I can get a therapist to work with me in my apartment. Otherwise, I don't know what to do.) and hope to recover to the point where I can at least walk a reasonable distance without tremendous pain.

I used to make my living as an entertainer doing voice-over work. I was the voice of "Reggie" in "Rude Dog and the Dweebs" circa 1989 (which unfortunately aired for only one season) and was at one time the voice of Bugs Bunny for two special projects jointly produced by Warner Bros and Kid Rhino Records. I have also worked as a school teacher, teaching English to high school students.

I am also a writing coach for people of all ages.

The video I have posted hopefully shows my ability as an impressionist and demonstrates my vocal range for voice-over work. It was recorded ten years ago. It begins with my impersonation of Michael Caine (the butler in the Batman movies) and ends with my impersonation of Miss Piggy.
