I’m only 3 but I WILL BE Cancer FREE! #TeamMaurice
Hello Everyone,
I hope this message finds you all well! Without taking too much of your time today as you read about our life, weather you can donate or not. We appreciate you reading and hope you can help us spread awareness of childhood cancer. We were (and still are) a healthy family of 4! Until earlier this month when our 3 year old son Maurice was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer. Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma! Our world stopped as we knew it. As some may know, and for those who have been lucky to not experience the rippling affect of Cancer. It affect so many aspects of our lives and leaves us scrambling to contain the normality of our previous (cancer free) life. Maurice has good days and bad day’s. But we push through as a family and try and keep balance. Maurice was such an energetic, friendly, and adventurous little toddler.
With the sweetest heart! (He still melts our hearts with love gestures) Maurice has begun his fight with RMS, going through his first chemotherapy session at only 3 years old. His health has weakened and weight loss has set in. (But we let the good days outshine the bad days) At this moment Maurice will need all of the support he can get, to do what he does best and that’s kicking some butt! :)
we are reaching out to you now because in our 13 days (and counting) with no tentative date of discharge. The financial hit has not been shy on its arrival. From lodging to meals, to gas to still keeping a home to come to after discharge.
Our goal is to cover some of the following expenses. To enable dad to take some time off work to be there for our son, medical supplies needed to prepare our home for his arrival, travel expenses, and house hold bills, few car repairs to have a working vehicle.
If by gods grace we surpass our goal, the funds that were not needed will be forwarded to the Jonathan Jaques Pediatric Cancer Center. For research on childhood cancer. Which is where Maurice has been these past 13 days.
I hope this will be shared if a donation can notbe made, please everyone hold your children a little closer tonight. Spread awareness of childhood cancer, promote early intervention a donate to research purposes.
Kind Regards
Patricia
