Few know my story. In the spring of 2022, I suffered a spinal injury. I underwent spinal surgery in August of that year. I haven't been the same since. I had a second spinal surgery in 2024. For the years now, I suffer daily from consent debilitating back pain, weakness, numbness and pain in my legs and permanent spinal nerve damage from my spinal surgery. I cannot barely walk anymore. The longest is about 50 yards on even ground. I can't feel my feet, legs or any bedroom/ bathroom functions as a result of the permanent nerve damage. My life as I knew it, is gone. I am in desperate need of a wheelchair. It will give me freedom to live my life again. I am a person that chooses to live my life everyday to the fullest. Just ask anyone who knew me before my spinal injury. I am a very active person by nature. I am an athlete. This injury has been devastating and life changing to me and to my family. I am happily married to my Wife and best friend of almost twenty years. We have two children and two grandchildren. We all live on our 6 acre homestead. I am an avid outdoors person. Before my spinal injury I held a full time job, did all the family stuff and kept up the homestead. I was a backpacker/hiker, CrossFitter, softball player, I practiced jujutsu, hunted, fished and actively volunteered for a conservation group. I strongly believe in our American heritage and leaving behind a legacy. However my condition is getting worse. I desperately need a wheelchair. I'm in Boston seeing specialists twice a month for my condition. My Wife and Daughter have taken time out of work to bring me to appointments. My Aunt visits me every week and helps where she can. Losing my job has put my Wife and I in great financial debt. My condition has been such a burden on us, especially on my Wife. She holds a full-time plus job and a part-time job 20 hrs+ to help us make ends meet. Since I lost my job we have been struggling. Our daughter moved in with us to help take care of me, along with her two daughters. I love being surrounded by my family. They are so supportive. I am fighting depression from not being able to live my active life and contribute like I once did. After the years and ER visits, I'm learning pace and how to live with my now disability... Unfortunately, I am going to need another spinal surgery in the near future. The funds raised here would pay for my "Freedom chair" (all- terrain wheelchair) and modifications to our home, like an outside wheelchair ramp and inside a stair chair. Any money left over would go towards my medical bills/expenses. We just can't afford to do this on our own. We are proud people and this is hard for us, to publicly ask for help. I appreciate your consideration to donate to my gofundme. You will be helping me in gaining back some of my freedom to LIVE. ❤️
