My name is Shannon Power and I am hoping to help the family come together to celebrate Derek's life.

In the last 24 hours, the lives of Derek Johnson’s family have been forever changed. Derek was the true definition of a good man and one of the most important people in their lives. His wife, Tina, his two daughters, Shonalee and Kiley, his mother, Iris, and so many more are still trying to process this unimaginable and very sudden loss.

Alongside their grief, they have been faced with an overwhelming number of decisions that must be made in a very short period of time. As they try to navigate this, they are also working to bring their family together to say goodbye and honour his life. Many of them live in different places across the country and the cost of travel, accommodations, and funeral-related expenses has created a financial barrier during an already heartbreaking time.

This fundraiser is meant to help cover these costs so their family can be together, support one another, and properly lay this amazing person to rest. Any contribution, no matter the size, helps ease the burden and allows them to focus on grieving, remembering, and celebrating the life he lived.
