This is a last resort to help my family survive financially through this incredibly difficult time. Please know that I am doing this on my own, just a kid feeling extremely guilty for emptying her parents bank accounts :( my mum would never allow me to do anything like this, she try's to hide our money issues from me but I know it's adding so much more stress on top of me being ill and watching me suffer. I have quite a story, one that has been extended over many years and we have never asked for anything during this time, so any donations of even $2 is greatly appreciated. After 3 years of suffering I was diagnosed with an Arnold Chiari Malformation, a rare and in my case a very dibilitating medical condition. I became so ill that My mum had to leave her job to be my full time carer, and I had to give up my dreams of being a surgeon after being told I couldn't graduate high school. All year we have been surviving and struggling, with the only stable money coming in being my dads teacher wage. I also struggled with server mental illness, being so sick that I tried to take my life just to make it stop. 4 months ago I underwent brain surgery to releive my overwhelming pain and to give myself a chance at a somewhat normal teenage life. After many follow up appointments, my doctors thought I had made a good enough recovery to take a well deserved holiday. I came to cairns with my boyfriend to relax for a few days, however, that never happened, I was taken into hospital less then 12 hours after we landed. I was having hour long and very violent seizures, over 28 in less then 72hrs, something I had never experienced before and something that no doctor or neurologist here had seen before or could understand. I have been in hospital, staying in cairns 3 nights more then we had planned requiring oxygen and so many medications. My mum had to fly up to be with me, and I am too much of a risk to myself and others to take a plane home. I need to get home to Brisbane for the proper care I require as cairns hospital doesn't have the facilities or specialist for my condition. This mean we have to take the overnight train home in a disability section. Oh and did I mention I'm in a wheelchair? We have so far spent $4000 here that we don't have on my care, scans, my urgent need for transportation home, the flights for mum to come and be with me and the accomodation that we were suppose to stay in but didn't even use. Pls help us, we don't have many options left.
