I'm Fighting Cancer for My Children and Elderly mother
Donation protected
My name is Ghazanafar Ali. I am a proud father of three young children and the only breadwinner for my family. Everything I do is for them — their education, their future, and the hope that I will see them grow up.
Last year, my world was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare and aggressive cancer of the blood. Since then, life has been a battle — countless hospital visits, painful treatments, and nights spent wondering if I will get to see another year with my children.
For the past two years, I have been treated at St. James Hospital in Leeds. I have gone through three different lines of chemotherapy, including a drug called Elranatamab. At first, each new treatment brought hope. But the cancer has continued to grow stronger, and my latest results show that my light chain levels are rising again. My doctors have now stopped chemotherapy. There are no more standard treatment options left in Leeds for my case unless I qualify for a trial in another city.
At the moment, I am taking a drug called Pomalidomide to help keep me going for a little longer — but it is no longer working as we hoped. My only real chance now is CAR T-cell therapy, one of the most advanced cancer treatments in the world. For my type of cancer, it is not available through the NHS — only privately. The cost is staggering: around £500,000.
I have an appointment planned with one of the top doctors in to see if I can begin treatment. I want so badly to fight for my life — for my children, for my elderly mother, and for all those who love me. I am not ready to give up. I believe that with the kindness of strangers, I can make it to this treatment and have the chance to live.
Your donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward the cost of this life-saving therapy, travel, and medical care. If you cannot donate, please share my story — every share could connect me to someone who can help.
I will keep everyone updated every step of the way. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with me in this fight.
With deepest gratitude,
