Hello! I am David the Gnomie, aka Lawrence. I'm a 40-year-old disabled gay male (he/him). I am trying to get funds for rent, bills, and potentially moving. I'm trying to raise $8000, but any amount is a big help! I am originally from California, but I am currently living in Oklahoma. I am trying to find a better place because of the heavily conservative government and the lack of care for disabled people in my state.

My current rent is $450 a month, and my bills other than rent are around $200. I lived on around $9K for the last year, but due to my medical issues, I can't get unemployment in my state. I suffer from severe agoraphobia, and they require me to be able to take train and bus trips each day for interviews. I haven't been outside my house for more than 30 minutes at a time other than half a dozen times in the last 5 years. I lost my ability to walk or stand on my right leg for more than a few steps, so I use a walker and a wheelchair to get around. I also suffer from depression, but I am on bipolar meds. I self-committed to a mental health institution recently, but they could not help me because I could not handle being around so many people.

My hope is to keep myself afloat here while I look for a new place to live, with better medical care and resources for severely disabled individuals. I want to get better and be able to live life again. I want to be able to see a doctor about my legs and maybe be able to get around on my own again so I can take care of myself. I want to be able to move around my kitchen and enjoy cooking for myself once again!
