Hi, my name is Adam. I’m 20 years old, and it’s been my lifelong dream to own a project car.
When I was 4, I was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Despite that, I’ve always had a deep love for cars — everything about them has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. For years, I pushed through and managed to stay surprisingly mobile, but recently things have changed.
I suddenly lost most of my mobility, and after a fall in the bathroom that fractured my L4 vertebrae, I’ve been struggling even more. Recovery has been tough, and I know I’ll probably never regain the mobility I once had.
I’m currently attending university, and between my studies and paying for carers to support me day-to-day, saving for a project car has become almost impossible. I’ve realised that if I try to do it completely on my own, it might never happen.
For a long time, I told myself it was a silly dream — after all, I might never be able to drive it. But lately, I’ve come to see that just owning and working on a car of my own would be a huge achievement. It’s something I can be proud of, a piece of a lifelong passion I can still hold onto.
My dream project would be either a BMW E38 7 Series, a late 90s to early 2000s 5 Series, or a Porsche 924.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to me. You’d be helping me reach a dream I’ve carried since childhood — and I’ll be forever grateful for your kindness and support.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. ❤️
