ILY Nails & Beauty Bar is one of the few, if not only, black owned full service nail salon in the Austin area. We are fighting to keep our doors open at this time and have til the 18th to do so. ILY Nails is disrupting the nail industry by being black owned and operated. This nail salon was created to be a safe space for people of color but we make sure everyone feels welcome here. This place is a family. If we lose this shop then we lose the family that we created from the nail professionals to the customers we service.
The owner, India Phillips, has faced many unforeseen obstacles since opening and has been able to over come all obstacles thus far, and we are hoping with the help of the community we can overcome this one that would either make or break the fate of the salon. Opening during a pandemic, delayed construction due to the holidays, delayed & malfunctioned equipment that prevented the shop from performing services, closing in July due to lack of workers, and now when things are starting to pick up, the shop is at risk of closing due to falling behind on rent. We are currently 12k behind on rent and all expenses have come from the owners personal account. India has had no funding, no grants, no loans to sustain the business, as well as no mentors or coaches to help her run the business.

In November when purchasing the space we raised 4500 that went towards renovating the space. We have changed the amount to 20k which would give us 15500 for rent, a water heater, and supplies if the goal is reached.
