Ilona's Journey with Appendix Cancer

Donation protected
As some of you know, our mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Appendix Cancer in early 2021. The type of cancer she has is rare, but it is also one of the more aggressive ones. It is in her mucus, so the cancer is incurable but not terminal. Which means it can be maintained, but will never be completely gone.. She had to have emergency surgery to remove multiple organs in order to get rid of a very large tumor and several smaller ones.
She is currently going to biweekly Chemo treatments, she does 12 treatments, then has 3 weeks in between before starting another 12. This will continue for the rest of her life. Her team of Doctors say this is what will keep her going. In a few months Mom is also going to have another surgery called a HIPEC (Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy) this is considered the Mother of all surgeries, which is performed in 2 steps. As well as removal of her gallbladder since it's cancerous.
Once she has completed a few more Chemo treatments and takes a break from them. She will be traveling to Wake Forest Baptist for this procedure.
It has been a "tough pill to swallow" , but our mom is a soldier, she is stronger than anyone we know, and with the grace of God she will get through this. Although most of us "kids" are grown and moved out, our little sister is still at home. Due to the cancer & biweekly treatments, mom is unable to work anymore and she was denied her right to any financial assistance with disability or social security, after working years for that benefit! We really hate to ask for help, but it's reaching beyond our means at this time. We pray our situation financially inproves in the months to come, but until then we ask for any donation, every little bit will help toward keeping my mom & youngest sister afloat. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you share this with others & prayers are ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated.  Thank you so much! ❤❤❤❤
