Illustration Institute Artist Residency

Want to join us in making history? Illustration Institute has raised $400,000 toward our goal of $500,000 to fund the purchase of the first ever artist residency solely dedicated to illustration and narrative arts.  Located on Peaks Island in Maine, Illustration Institute's Faison Artist Residency has already hosted 56 artists and writers over the last three summers.  Through the generosity of property owner and II board member John Faison, each of these artists have given back to the Portland community by providing live talks and workshops as well as recharged and created new works for the world at large!

Here is the amazing story: 
In honor of his wife, artist and shoe designer, Marilyn Mazza Faison, John challenged Illustration Institute in 2017 to raise $500,000...once we do, he will sell us the property for ONE DOLLAR and the money raised will go back to the Institute in the form of a sustainability fund to assure the future of the residency. 

We need $75,000 more to make this dream a reality.  When we reach $475,000 another generous donor has pledged the final $25,000!
We are thrilled to bring this magical property back to life, share it with artists who contribute their talents and share their creative process with folks from all walks of life.
