Illuminating ALS: Flickering Souls

My husband Eric is creating a large scale installation called “Illuminating ALS: Flickering Souls.” This installation aims to raise awareness for those who are living with ALS and those who have died. But we can’t do it alone! We need your help.
ALS is an always fatal disease that paralyzes you over time, robbing you of your ability to move and eventually breathe. Those diagnosed with this disease live for typically 2-5 years after diagnosis. Eric has had ALS since 2020, and though this disease has been progressing, he is not allowing it to rob him of his ability to create meaningful art. Illuminating ALS will be an incredibly powerful art installation illuminating the lives of 256 individuals who have been diagnosed with the disease.
Creating this large art piece comes with a price, we are looking to raise funds to cover the cost of supplies. We will need to buy filament for the 3-d printer, lumber to build the structure the portraits will sit on, and lighting to ensure each portrait has its own individual light source.
We believe this project has the capability of raising awareness for ALS in spaces this disease does not usually partake in. Showing this in art galleries, public spaces, government buildings, etc gives us the opportunity to invite the public to truly feel the weight of this cruel relentless disease, and really see the individuals impacted by it.
