Illinois Starbucks Workers United - Regional Strike Fund
Donation protected
Since 2021, over 550 Starbucks comprised of more than 10,000 baristas have elected to join Starbucks Workers United nationwide, including over 30 stores and 600 baristas in the state of Illinois. Now that we've won our union elections, we are negotiating with Starbucks for higher wages, improved benefits and working conditions, consistent staffing and scheduling, and the right to safety and dignity in the workplace. In order to win a fair contract, we are continuing to take regionally- and nationally-coordinated actions including striking to put pressure on Starbucks and demand that they come to the bargaining table.
Where does your donation go? 100% of donations to the Illinois Regional Strike Fund go to directly unionized Starbucks workers. This fund is democratically managed by our regional organizing committee (ROC) to allow workers to continue fighting on the picket line and may also be used to support workers who have lost hours and wages due to union busting and illegal firings.
It has been a long battle to win this first union contract at a major fast food company in the United States. But we believe that we will win, and hope this campaign can continue to provide an important example of working-class power going on the offensive for other workers and trade unionists. We all need something to hope and fight for in difficult times like these, and we can guarantee your money will be well-spent towards that end. Thank you and solidarity!
