Hi, my name is Keisha and I’m starting this gofundme for my sister who is going through a difficult time in her life right now. The money will be used to help her with medical expenses and basic needs.

My sister has been struggling for over a year with Crohn's Disease. She was misdiagnosed with colitis. Her former GI doctor said it would go away independently with a diet change. She lost a total of 55 lbs. She originally weighed 138 lbs and became malnourished, weighing just 83 lbs.

She struggled, in constant pain and discomfort for five months with no relief or help from her former doctors until she had to go to the ER where she met a very caring doctor who sent her to a hospital that had specialists who could help her. There, she was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease.

She was then given steroids which helped with the pain and increased her appetite, which allowed her to gain enough weight to reach 107 lbs. Then she started to have UTI symptoms and it wouldn't go away and she lost the weight again. Another ER visit found she has a fistula connecting her bladder to her intestines. Unfortunately, she was not approved for the appropriate medication due to her insurance. She was then put on a standby biological medication in hopes that it would help, but unfortunately it has done nothing, as a recent CT scan shows her condition has remained the same.

My sister has been living with severe pain and constant symptoms of a UTI and the pain from Crohn's Disease for the past year. She will be starting a new medication soon and she has an appointment scheduled to speak with a surgeon but since there aren’t any available openings she won't have a consultation until June 2025.

My sister has 4 kids, and has not been able to work due to her condition. My family and I hope to raise enough money to help my sister with her medical expenses and basic needs.
