On Saturday, I'm going to be attempting The Great Saunter, a 32-mile hike around the periphery of Manhattan -- or SOME PORTION OF IT! ;) (Yes, I'm practicing my best Rosie Ruiz imitation.) I'm pledging $50 for every mile I cover to RAICES of Texas, the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Services. It's seen more than half of its budget disappear even as it's once again on the front lines of aiding refugee families being separated or facing other ordeals. It's also where my beloved niece Glenaan is Director of Legal Operations. Please make a guess as to how many miles I'll make it before my feet turn into blistery balloons, and give some multiple of your guess.
