In July, I will be running the Ilkley Half Marathon in memory of my beautiful mum, who we sadly lost to cancer in October 2024.

Cancer is something that sadly affects so many of us, whether personally or someone we love. The impact it has on patients and their families is overwhelming, emotionally, physically and mentally.

The support provided by the team at the Sir Robert Ogden MacMillan Centre is truly incredible. Not only do they provide outstanding medical treatment, but the emotional and psychological support they offer to both patients and their loved ones is something I will forever be grateful for. Until you experience it firsthand, you don’t fully realise just how important that support is in such a difficult time.

Taking on this challenge is my way of giving something back in memory of my mum and helping support other families going through similar experiences.
