Iliesa Ramatau Medical campaign
Donation protected
This campaign is backed by 3 couples and many friends who we met in Fiji a few weeks ago. We all met this young man named Illiesa Ramatau...'Illi' for short.
19 years of age, quiet and reserved but full of laughter and joy.
For the last four years Illi has had a tumor growing on the side of his face, thankfully benign. It started off quiet small and non envasive, now as you can see by the photo, this tumor has grown and is continuing to grow.
Illi has trouble eating and drinking and often in pain.
He has a full time job working on an island in Fiji doing maintenance and odd jobs around the resort. Although he works more than you could imagine, the hourly rate is very low and he will never have the money to be able to afford to remove this tumor and begin a new faze in his life.
Illi is smart and had the grades to continue to university but he had to decline due to the tumor. His dream is to be a chef.
When we were on this island in Fiji, Illi showed us the sites of the island and took us places where he had to help us walk up huge steep hills, we struggled to manage these hills and Illi supported us with his shoulders with no selfishness or regard for the struggles he was having himself. A true young gentleman.
We ask that you open your heart and donate anything to help us make this goal, to bring Illi to Australia and get him the operation and help he needs to become strong and able to fulfil his dreams.
The medical system in Fiji is unable to help him any further.
He has two sponsors over here willing to open their homes and give time during his recovery, now we need to raise the money for the operation and continuing medical expenses he needs over this time.
As with any medical issue, the sooner we can get Illi help the better.
All of us that met Illi in Fiji will be forever grateful and I know Illi will always be touched by the many people who have helped him.
