HELP SUPPORT MY SON ILIAS IN HIS TENNIS JOURNEY

My son ilias Hirani Worthington plays Tennis and he is a great player. He is a highly ranked junior with a great future.

We are looking for financial support to help ilias with his college fees and Scholarship opportunities in the USA and with competing internationally. 

ilias travels mainly by public transport. He can only compete in the UK due to the costs of travel. This limits his opportunities to develop his ranking. ilias has beaten many highly world ranked players both Junior and Men’s.

Ilias has stripped back costs as far as possible, travelling alone by public transport to all his tournaments. Staying with friends and family, or at budget hotels where necessary. Eating pre-prepared meals. Using equipment that quickly isn’t fit for purpose due to overuse.

He now is being approached by colleges from the USA and is getting offers from highly ranked colleges. These opportunities are exactly what ilias needs to continue his journey but even though the scholarship are helpful financially there is still fees to be paid. 

How it all began

Ilias grew up in a very democratically and culturally diverse setting. He was taught from an early age the importance of family, spending a lot of his early years learning and being nurtured by our amazing Mothers . They taught him to live his life with passion, purpose and to follow his dreams. They also taught him (due to our Father’s passing away) that he has to work hard, have courage and be strong in order to achieve your dreams.

Ilias was highly ranked like top 5 in the Uk but at the age of 11 yrs old his grandmothers both passed away. Ilias lost a lot of confidence and this had an affect on his tennis. Ilias missed out on selection to support him through his journey. This was a big Knock to him.

We kept on with his Tennis because we had the belief and showed him the resilience that’s needed. Sending the correct affirmations.

Jump forward now to today, ilias is 17yrs old and is striving forward up the ranking and is achieving great results. Winning ITF’s (International Tennis Federation Comps) as well as other tournaments in the UK. 2022 was a great year for ilias. As well as winning many competitions ilias has grown mentally and is taking his training to the next level. The habits ilias is creating will help him achieve his goals.

Financially the costs of ilias’s tennis at his level are endless from his training programme to competing together with

Racquet strings lasting 2/3 days

Tennis trainers that he wears out every 2wks, grips on his racquets as well as many other expenses.
