Hi, seasons greetings!

My name is Syan, and I’ve starting this fundraiser to help a woman who is like a second mother to me. I started writing this summary with stories I have with her, but this is really about her and her cancer journey. Ileana Angerosa, aside from being like a second mother to me, she is also a mother of 3 amazing sons, and a wife. She is one of the most extraordinary uncelebrated humans I know. She’s giving, kind, loving, and has this wonderful talent of smiling through some of life’s toughest pains. Despite her condition and what she’s been undergoing, she has one of the brightest smiles and obnoxious contagious laughter - and never shy away from helping others that are in need.

In October 2021, Ileana was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive triple-positive breast cancer. Not too soon after she started her chemotherapy treatments, she had to stop due to the toll it took on her health.

In February 2023, Ileana restarted her chemo treatments, and it’s been a whirlwind of appointments for her diagnosis, and setting up various surgeries, tests, and treatment plans. As can be imagined, this has taken a huge toll on her and her family’s mental and financial health. Amid the whirlwind, her husband lost his job because her condition and treatments have limited her ability to drive.

Being the sole provider for her household, the cost of rent, bills, and endless appointments and treatments have been piling up. In addition to that, as a mother and sole provider, her house is full of love, hungry men and two dogs named Chico and Luke.

As much as Ileana deserves to stay home and not put unnecessary strain on her physical and mental capacity, the cost of the situation has eaten away their entire savings. Her husband has returned to work few months back, but that coupled with Ileana’s income has barely made a dent in the accrued cost of living and medical expenses.

They realized they can’t do this alone. They need the support of their community.
