New Playground- Indy Lighthouse CS

Donation protected
On Friday, September 25 at around 7pm the only playground  at Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School became engulfed in fire, and most of our equipment was melted to the ground. Thankfully, neighbors to the school alerted administrators, the police, and the fire department, and no one was physically injured.

Unfortunately, after police investigation, it was determined that the fire began as a result of four young juveniles playing with fire and paper. The extent of the damage was not intentional, but the impact has been devastating to the almost 600 students in grades K-6 who still call this space their playground.

Upon returning to school the following Monday, students were greeted not with the news of the loss but with a message of hope for rebuilding. Our school-wide motto is "Be the Light," and both students and teachers have embraced this current situation as a prime opportunity to show those in our community how brightly we will shine in spite of the darkness.

We are hopeful that our community of family and friends will contribute to the rebuilding process through any support they provide.
