IKIGAI SUSHI

Dear Waukegan, it has been, from the bottom of my heart, my absolute pleasure to serve you all some sushi these past 4 years. Pre covid, coming to work, seeing your smiles and building relationships has been such an amazing experience. Since I started working in a kitchen, I've wanted nothing more than to create a fun, fair, and safe work environment where I can enjoy my craft and experiment with new flavors. You all have been so accepting and supportive. I kid you not, there wasn't a single person who belived we would be such a success before opening. I'm so greatful.
As you know, Ikigai has been closed for about a month now due to the hardships I've faced the past couple of months. Full transparency, we had a very terrible last couple of months that has set me back to a point of no return. After exhausting all other resources I'm here asking for just a bit more support waukegan. I know I dont deserve it on account of the tremendous amount of support and praise we have already received. This is the my very last option to salvage and recoupe from the fall backs I've had this year.
What do we plan to do with the money raised?
1.re-stock perishable goods that were lossed during our closure.
2.My landlord has graciously given us some time to try and reopen, so unpaid rent will need to be paid for.
3. Retraining and rehiring as many of our staff, understandably, have found employment elsewhere.
&
4. Our cafe, and kitchen menu will be revamped, reorganized, and polished to ensure a better business model, and cater to a larger demographic.
Regardless, I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing community. Stay amazing Waukegan!
