Iker Alexander Godbey
Donation protected
My name is Janie, I’m the mother of this sweet boy you see in the picture above. We had the pleasure of adopting Iker in March of this year. We felt called to give a home and love to medically complex children through adoption. In doing so we have blessed 3 times. Our first daughter passed away on May 25th 2019, in her daddy’s arms at the age of 6. Iker was also 6 years old. Iker was a shaken baby, but he could melt the room with his bright smile, and his laugh of my goodness his laugh, I long to hear that sweet sound again. On the morning of October 31st Iker went into cardiac arrest. I preformed CPR on him and was able to get his heartbeat back. Unfortunately the EMTs was not able to keep it and our boy passed in our bedroom. Iker is the second child we have lost and buried. And though I may not have given birth to them, I love them like they are mine. We have raised some money, some has been donated and we have put money towards the funeral which we have done had. But some still remains, and there is the cost of a headstone. Life insurance is not a thing when you have a medically complex child. I understand times are hard but if we can get some help we would appreciate it. If not prayers would be wonderful especially for our little girls. They have taken this so hard. And for Ikers older bothers.
