Help save struggling new sober living
The Ikaika Oxford House of Portland, Oregon is a clean and sober living house opened in early November of 2024. This house has struggled to fill with residents due to many factors in its location, resulting in a low number of applicants. Reaching our goal would help us catch up on past due bills and buy us some time to find more applicants so we can reach the real goal of being self-sustaining.
Oxford House is a shared residence where people in recovery from substance use disorder can live together and support each other in a drug and alcohol-free environment.
The model encourages the development of leadership skills and self-efficacy. More than 80 percent of Oxford House residents remain clean and sober for the long term, even though many of them come from backgrounds that have included lengthy alcohol and drug use, periods of homelessness, and incarceration. Slowly but surely, members learn or relearn values and responsible behavior.
