Aloha, I am Ramona Gudoy my family and I are humbly asking for any help/assistance. This has been a very overwhelming time for our ohana due to all that was lost.
We live up Hakimo on Iliili Rd and have never witnessed flooding this bad. All of the heavy rain and especially runoff from Paakea Rd and Lualualei Naval flowed directly into Iliili Rd and onto our property, causing major damage to our vehicles (vehicles went underwater), crops, animals, and property.
We haven’t been able to drive into our property since Friday, 3/13/26, which has been a big challenge, but we had to make it work by walking through our neighbors' properties on Hakimo Rd through the bushes, carrying essential items and food for my sister and Dad who are stuck on the property trying their best to save what they can and care for all of our animals (pigs, dogs, goats, chickens). Due to the storm, we were unable to get the delivery trucks to bring the food for our animals since the flood level was way too high for vehicles to make it into our property, so we have been carrying 10x 50lb bags of feed daily so our animals could be taken care of. Unfortunately we lost a lot of animals and even our pet do to this storm but we had to continue trying our best to save the rest
Our house took major damage also due to our roof caving in throughout our home. A lot of water damage was done in every room of the house and buckets and containers were not enough to save it from the rain leaking from the ceilings and roof. After the first week of the storm, mold basically filled the entire ceiling due to the water just sitting in certain areas of the house. Outlets and electrical items stopped working from the water getting into them. Our freezers and refrigerator also broke from the water getting into them, so we lost most of our food supply.
This storm has been very heartbreaking for us as we just welcomed our newborn child who is currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and we have been juggling being with our child and being there for my Dad and sister who are at our home taking care of everything there. We tried all we could, even contacted C&C, State Officials, Red Cross, HFD, and FEMA, but there wasn’t really much they could do for us since the beginning of the storm due to the severity of the flooding. Again, my family and I are asking for any assistance, words of advice, or even just sharing of this post anything is greatly appreciated. As we will assess and so the total lost of our home once we are able to drive into our property. Thank you for all your help and support
