If there was a such thing as a bionic spine, I would be first in line to get one!!  Unfortunately, science hasn't come that far, so for now I'll just have to settle with a spinal fusion.

The bottom 3 discs in my lumbar spine are so deteriorated, bulging, or shifted, that they are pinching the sciatic nerve in my right leg severely. This has been causing so much pain that I have had to be bedridden and unable to work for the past 5 months.

Because I am out of work without a significant other to assist me financially, there's no income, zero money at all coming in.  I have applied for long-term disability, but that is taking quite longer than I was hoping, and even if/when it does get approved, it will only cover 60% of my usual pay. Therefore, bills are piling up left and right, late payment fees are adding up, I've overdrawn on my checking account several times, collections agencies are calling, I'm having to max out all my credit cards, and for the first time in my life, I am being denied credit.  

I have finally been given the green light for surgery after a VERY long wait.  During this 5 month span I've attempted physical therapy, pain management, spinal epidural shots of nerve blocks, and I even went as far as to try acupuncture and homeopathic treatment out-of-pocket because it's not covered by insurance. I pop an obscene amount of pills everyday, and don't go anywhere except doctor appointments, the pharmacy, or the grocery store.  I'm just ready to get back to normal, back to work, and literally, back on my feet!

Those who know me, know that I pride myself on being independent and never asking for help, but I've recently had to swallow my pride and start asking, because I've realized I cannot do this on my own.  I completely understand that this time of year funds are sparse due to gift giving and donations to charities, so any help would be greatly appreciated.  But if you can't donate, all I ask for is prayers and positive vibes sent my way for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!
