In March of 2022 Ignat was forced to flee Ukraine. I met Ignat and his mother on the Ukranian - Polish border, and was able to get them to a safe location in Poland. After six months of hard work and support from people like you, Ignat has been able to relocate to the United States as a Freshman at the University of Illinois Springfield. We are now working diligently to support his education here. His family remains dispersed, some relocating throughout Europe, others staying in Ukraine to defend their home. Ignat was 17 when Russia invaded his home, and he awoke one morning to the sound of artillery shelling his school and troops occupying his campus. Charged by his older brothers to get his mother to safety, Ignat has journeyed far beyond his years to arrive in Illinois. 100% of funds raised go towards the payment of his tuition and his room & board during his Freshman year.
