Ignacio's Fight: Overcoming a Rare Cancer
Donation protected
In September of 2024, my husband, Ignacio Martorell (Nasi) began to experience an abnormal swelling in his right arm. A few months later, we decided to contact his primary care physician regarding the swelling. After receiving a referral to an orthopedic surgeon, he underwent various tests, scans, and a needle biopsy to determine the cause. Through multiple months of waiting and retesting, the swelling grew at an exponential rate.
Then, on the morning of May 6th, 2025, the swelling grew to the point of extreme pain; Nasi went to the hospital immediately. Doctors began with pain management and testing. It was clear that the doctors and nurses knew something was wrong. A few days later, a surgical biopsy was rushed to quickly find answers.
Shortly after, he was diagnosed with an Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma (UPS) in his right arm. A rare and malignant cancer with the potential of spreading rapidly. Our family was shocked at the news.
My husband has marked his family's life and those around him in profound ways. The way he loves and cares for those around him shows the selflessness in his character. He is a good man, a Godly man, a loving husband, an incredible father, and is someone who represents what it means to never back down.
Despite the news, we are ready to take this battle head-on and defeat this cancer once and for all. We are highly expectant that the Lord will work a miracle in his life. We believe his story will make an inspiring impact on others.
To fight this battle, Nasi has already undergone intense rounds of radiation and has started his first round of chemotherapy. With plans to finish chemotherapy sometime in late November, our hope is that the tumor will shrink to a size that can be resected surgically, removing any cancer in his body.
This fund is designed to support Nasi and our family financially during this troubling time. As a small business owner of a car-detailing company, Nasi has been unable to work while being in and out of the hospital for testing and treatment. He has relied on savings to provide for us at this time. This fund will primarily support his loss of income and any mounting medical bills as he undergoes treatment.
However, more than anything, our hope is that you would read this and partner with us in prayer. We are believing for a miracle to take place in his life and are expectant that it will come to pass. So, would you consider partnering with us in prayer?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, we will keep you updated on his journey.
