We are a team from the iGEM group at Universitat Rovira i Virgili, working in collaboration with the CRAG (Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics) to develop a groundbreaking biosensor for the wine industry. The experimental phase will take place at CRAG, using their advanced biotechnology facilities to design and validate our solution.
Our biosensor will detect volatile organic compounds (VOCs) naturally emitted by grapevines under stress. By converting these invisible biochemical signals into a visible color change, we make the invisible visible; allowing winegrowers to detect issues before symptoms appear and take action early, improving vineyard management.
We are seeking financial support to cover the essential costs of development and testing. Your contribution will directly support research that bridges synthetic biology and sustainable agriculture.
