To all of our friends, family and supports - the entire #8TEAM community - we are humbly asking for your support to send an extremely talented young lady alongside her dedicated coach Martello Jones to represent Canada at the 2025 IFMA Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi. IFMA is the official governing body for Muay Thai recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Oshiya’s selection for this competition marks her entry onto the world stage at the highest level of amateur Muaythai. She will proudly be representing the best of what Dufferin County, Ontario and Canada as a whole brings to the table in Muaythai competition!

About Oshiya & Coach Martello

Oshiya has been a training at Art Of 8 Martial Arts Academy since she 2021 at the tail-end of the pandemic. She quickly fell in love with Kickboxing and Muaythai and has worked hard to improve her skills every day. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional discipline, determination and technical proficiency in her martial arts training. Her impressive achievements includes becoming a two-time WAKO National Kickboxing Champion, a Kimura Wear Fighting Series title holder and she maintains an undefeated record of 15 wins and 0 losses. This international event is a significant milestone in Oshiya’s athletic journey and offers an exceptional opportunity to highlight Canadian talent on the global stage.

Martello is no stranger to high level competition, being an 11x champion across the Kickboxing and Muaythai disciplines. He dedicates every single day to passing on his knowledge and guiding young talent towards building the physical and psychological skills required to navigate towards their own greatness.

Why we need your help

Representing Canada on the world stage is an incredible honour—but it comes with significant financial challenges. The cost of travel to Abu Dhabi —including travel, competition fees, and accomodation—totals more than $3,500 CAD per person.

These expenses are not subsidized by the Province of Ontario or the Government of Canada, meaning they must be covered by the athlete, their family, and the gym. That’s where we need your support.
