If your doctor tells you to start your bucket list, what would you do? You knew it was coming. It was inevitable. You’ve had cancer for over 10 years and you just turned 30.
This is the newest chapter of Dana’s novel.
Chapter 1: Junior year in high school diagnosed with Crohns Disease.
Chapter 2: Chance CT finds another problem. GIST - Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor. Yet the silver lining is had she not had the CT scan, her treatment would have been delayed. She meets her future Husband, Joey.
Chapter 3: Multiple Drug Trials. Hope. Joey is still there.
Chapter4: 35+ tumors found throughout her body. Surgeries. Joey is still there.
Chapter 5: Still working through this entire ordeal, Joey is still there.
Chapter 6: Dana and Joey marry: For richer for poorer in Sickness and ..........
Chapter 7:Dana can no longer tolerate the pain nor give what little energy she has to work. She goes on disability, reduced income, but is able to spend more quality time with her family. Joey is still there
Chapter 8: Dana and Joey purchase their first home! Joey is still there, but works 5- 6 days a week, often out of town during the week. Joey does this to help make up the difference in income.
Chapter 9: Continued unexpected expenses happen.
Chapter 10: The bucket list. Dana has admired Lady Gaga for years. Her wish, dream, hope is to meet her before things get any worse. How do you put that in writing? We are working on an application for the Dreamfoundation. It is like an adult Make-a-wish. They ask for a back up wish. For Dana, that would be taking Joey to Hawaii one last time to share some quality time without the worries surrounding them.
Review:This GoFundMe request would be doing a few things. It would have money set aside for potential travel, if needed, to Hopefully meet Lady Gaga. If the Dreamfoundation doesn’t work, you can purchase a meet and greet at one of her concerts for about $6000. Hopefully it won’t come to that. If we ever get out of this COVID-19 shut down. Or, it would help with travel plans to Kauai, HI. It also would help with some unexpected expenses like copays, deductibles, vet bills, etc.... easing the way just a little here and there during a challenging time.
Dana has said she will not stop fighting. I believe that! She is a firecracker!
