I’m not even a year old yet, and look at the struggles I have had! My name is Dexter and I came to the Pet Patrol sanctuary when I was a tiny baby. My mom rejected me and many volunteers in the sanctuary helped to bottle feed me and take care of me. That’s probably why I am so loving now – I give big purrs and kisses to anyone who snuggles me! Pet Patrol also found me a surrogate mom who nurtured me and taught me how to be a cat. When I was

a baby, both of the cornea’s on my eyes were covered with a puffy, bright red bubble. I couldn’t see anything but I was a fighter. With lots of vet care and lots of medication, my eyes became almost clear. I can see about five or six feet ahead, I run like the wind, I don’t miss a toy, I love my canned food and all my buddies are here. I love to wrestle and play and groom and cuddle with the other cats. Things were going along fine, but now all of a sudden my eyes are bright red again. They’re not puffy, just very sinewy looking and uncomfortable. I need to go to the Animal Ophthalmologist in Toronto. I don’t know where that is, but I think it’s a long ways away. They say that the consultation appointment will be $500 and if I need lots of treatments who knows what the costs will be. Oh my! I don’t have enough purrs saved up! I know I am as cute as a button, I love to be cradled in people’s arms and I am just the happiest boy.
