"If We Make It Through December" Short Film

Donation protected
Hi my name is Alex LoCascio, the Co-Director of the coming short film "If We Make It Through December." I am a Senior film student at Cal State Fullerton, in pre-production for my second short film, following my first which premiered at this year's Newport Beach Film Festival, titled "Sonder." Writing with my Co-Director Rebecca Rutledge, we are keeping with the thriller-horror genre, and bringing together a crew for a weekend up in the mountains to create this 15-20 minute short film.

This film is solely made with the help of fellow CSUF Film students and Alum. Being students, most of us do not have the disposable income to help fund this film and make it of the highest quality possible. We are asking for donations to cover food, gas expenses for traveling, hard drives, location costs (cabin rental), and equipment that we have not been able to source from friends and connections (lenses and lights). With a cast and crew of upwards of 15 people, we could use all the help we can get in terms of funding. Anything helps! In turn, we would love to include donors’ names in the credits of the film.

"If We Make It Through December" is a Horror/Thriller focused on a college-aged couple taking a weekend getaway for New Years. Early into their relationship, Flo and Eli hope to have a fun first trip together to ring in the New Year. They arrive at the cabin to find it has been "double booked" due to Eli's lack of planning. Here, Flo meets Eli's eclectic friends. Coming to some shocking conclusions about them, she is left to rethink who she thought her partner was.

Think the female-led psychological horror of Pablo Larrain’s Spencer and Ari Aster’s Midsommar meets the tense pressure cooker situations of Mike White’s The White Lotus.
