Things were going well. Debra and Lynn were set to do charitable work for the school system, finishing the release of a new game, and giving donations to various NGOs (Non-Government Organizations). Then disaster struck. Debra and Lynn both contracted COVID, but Debra's case led to coma and paralysis. See her in the above photograph at Christmas in a wheelchair.
Debra has been unable to contact friends and loved ones. Initially, she lost her memory, including all memories of her trusted companion, Lynn. Once her memory returned, she was still unable to type messages or participate in phone calls.
As Debra began to recover, she was still unable to communicate effectively for several months, but her motor skills began to slowly return. She can now flip over in bed with some assistance and can type brief messages.
This recovery has led to overwhelming medical and household costs, including 3 hospital visits, and 16-18 hours a day of medical assistance. Debra has been able to combat some of these costs by producing a Black, female-protagonist game, but this falls short of the funds needed.
How you can help:
- Purchase the game.
- Helping her market the game and merchandise,
- Getting the word out,
- Contributing to this campaign,
- Positive thoughts and prayer.
