In recent times, comments from President Trump have left many Ukrainians feeling abandoned by the international community. These remarks have sown seeds of doubt and despair among our friends and allies, a people already enduring profound and unbelievable hardships.

Ukraine is not just a country; it is the home of brave souls who refuse to give up, who wake up every day determined to rebuild, to protect their loved ones, and to hold on to their dreams regardless of the cards being stacked against them. Mothers, fathers, children, and elders—they all need our support now more than ever.

I have donated to many foundations in my life, usually regarding human rights and disaster relief efforts. However, there is no greater reason to give support—no illness, no catastrophe, no life-altering hardship—than an elective war, dictated by one person in charge of a country, that his own people do not support, that has been spun through state-owned propaganda as something that it is not, and that has killed so many innocent people that deserve their sovereignty and are fighting for their life, land, and love of their country. This fundraiser is more than just a donation drive; it is a lifeline and a message. Every contribution, no matter how small, provides food, shelter, medical care, and hope to those who have lost so much. It tells the people of Ukraine that they are not alone—that the American people stand with them, that we don’t require their minerals for our help, and that the world stands with them in their time of need, for just one reason… that it is the right thing to do.
