If I Had A Nickle For Every Time I Sickled
Donation protected
Living with sickle cell has shaped every part of my life every day for the past 26+ years. From countless hospitalizations as a child to missing out on activities I love, like sports and travel, I’ve faced challenges that many can’t imagine. My twin sister also suffers from sickle cell, and together we’ve supported each other through the hardest moments. Luckily we had each other. While I’ve been fortunate to access care, there are many people in my community who are suffering in silence, without the support or resources they need. As I’ve grown older, I’ve seen vital programs and opportunities to connect with others disappear, leaving many to struggle alone.
I’m raising funds to cover my ongoing medical expenses and to create support programs for others living with sickle cell. My goal is to launch support groups that focus on the mental toll of this disease, and to offer workshops on how to improve health and well-being. I also want to spread helpful information and raise awareness, so that no one has to feel isolated or give up on their dreams because of sickle cell. If we can get closer to a cure, or simply make life better for those affected, it will mean everything to me, my sister, and so many others who share this journey.
