Educator Institute Haïti

I am going to Haïti to run math and science teacher training sessions as part of the Educator and Leadership Summer Institute (Institut d'enseignement et de leadership). There is no formal teacher training in Haïti, so our group will be offering week-long summer courses focusing on early childhood education, math, science, critical literacy, leadership and special education. All teachers in the country have been invited to participate in the summer institute taking place in Cap-Haitien (in the north of Haïti). The goal of the project is to help Haitien teachers gain pedagogical tools and techniques to in turn have them share this with other Haitien teachers. All money raised will help me pay for the trip to Haïti to be able to offer the specialized math and science workshops. I will also be taking some small items of clothing and personal care items. Je vais en Haïti pour offrir des cours d’été en mathématiques et en sciences pour l’Institut d’enseignement et de leadership. Il n’y a pas de programmes formation d’enseignement d’enseignement dans le pays donc notre groupe va offrir un institut d’été d’une semaine spécialisé en mathématiques, en sciences, petite enfance, littératie critique, leadership et enfance en difficulté. Tous les enseignant(e)s du pays ont été invités aux ateliers en Cap-Haïtien (au nord d’Haïti). Le but du projet c’est de former les enseignant(e)s haïtien(ne)s au sujet de la pédagogie et des techniques d’enseignement pour qu’ils puissent par eux-mêmes former d’autres enseignant(e)s haïtien(ne)s. L’argent prélevé va m’aider à défrayer les coûts du voyage en Haïti afin d’être capable d’offrir les ateliers spécialisés en mathématiques et en sciences. Je planifie aussi apporter quelques petits items de vêtement et de soins personnels.
