A Helping Hand in Difficult Times

Donation protected

In life, unexpected things happen. Whether they are helpful or hurtful, the people around you must show you that they care about you, appreciate you, tell you that everything is going to be alright, but most of all, show you that everything is going to be alright.

In an unfortunate incident at a local soccer tournament, Idrees Amin, our captain of ASF Select, went to ground in an attempt to secure the ball. As a result of another player also going into the tackle, his fibula and tibia were broken clean through in the most nightmarish way anyone could have possibly imagined. Idrees remained calm as his leg was noticeably not in place. He asked the other team to have the player who went into the tackle come forward so that he could say something to him. Tears running down the other player's face as he stepped forward, the words that came out of Idrees' mouth were this,

"I want you to know that this is not your fault."

For him to say this in an attempt to console the person who had just put a hold on his professional career, his personal life, and added more years of rehab after both an ACL tear and an MCL tear sent shivers down my spine and shockwaves throughout the entire community.

The most powerful showing of human compassion and empathy I have ever witnessed firsthand in my life.

Idrees Amin is someone who goes above and beyond for the people around him. I have personally had the pleasure of knowing Idrees for over a decade and I have never met someone so genuine and caring for those around him before in my life. He has been like a brother to me and countless others. An irreplaceable soul.

He has been in the workforce since he was a teenager, he is a part-time student studying kinesiology, is an outstanding example of a true family man as a son to his parents, a brother to his sisters, an uncle to his nephews, and above all else a positive influence to his community. He has put tireless hours into managing training sessions and facilitating logistics with our local soccer team while working full time and while going through his rehabilitation from two cruciate ligament tears (the equivalent of four years of rehabilitation). His mental fortitude is something that have 1000% faith in and on top of going through all of these major recoveries, he makes it his duty that whenever anyone inquires him about injuries, he takes the time out of his day to make sure any and all information is provided as soon as possible. There are very few people in this world who give so much to receive so little. The absolute definition of a stand-up guy and I truly believe that he deserves all the help in the world in this difficult time of need.

Idrees had just signed onto a new job not even a month ago and his insurance coverage from his previous job has lapsed without his new employer's insurance kicking in yet. In such a small window of time, so much has occurred in his life that nobody could possibly imagine.

Please, in this desperate time of need, help us raise enough money to assist with the medical bills that will most certainly be a trial on himself and his family. He deserves the world for how seriously he has impacted the lives of those around him and with your help, we can help show our appreciation for this young soul who has positively impacted the lives of those lucky enough to be around him.
