Hey Idle Hand fam,
With the city of San Francisco’s shelter in place order extended, there is a possibility that tattoo shops will be some of the last businesses to reopen. I have decided to start a GoFundMe to help out the staff here at Idle Hand. These guys have been working their butts off painting, and making prints and all around doing what they can to survive... but the truth is, many artists and independent contractors are struggling through this pandemic. Although they are all encouraged to apply for the state's unemployment program, it’s not promised. The system currently set up for independent workers will not cover their baseline that they count on to survive, if they get any sort of aid at all.
To be clear, this isn’t to help Idle Hand as a business. This is for the tattooers, and our hard working staff who take such great care of us and all of our amazing clients. We have had generous clients reach out offering help, and we are so grateful for the gesture! I am doing whatever I can to ensure these guys get through this. We miss hanging out with all of you and can’t wait to get back into the shop at whatever sort of capacity we will be allowed. I am sure it’s going to look very different than what we’re used to, but our energy hasn’t and won’t change.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read our campaign and we can’t wait to see you in our chairs again!
