Interwood F.C. feels privileged to present our club’s community project, created in loving memory of the club’s cofounder, Trevor Bailey (R.I.P.10.04.2024),with its main focus on improving the young people’s mental health and wellbeing. No child should face having to spend a Friday or any other evening, becoming vulnerable while hanging around on the streets of London, as opposed to having a safe and freely accessible community place, where they can thrive while participating in the sport activities they love. In Interwood we believe a child’s physical health is as important as their educational needs. Everyone knows the increased physical activity is strictly linked to a maintenance of a balanced mental health we have sadly observed deteriorating in young people since the pandemic. Sport has always been the greatest safety boat on the path to battle mental health difficulties our communities are very often felt left to tackle alone. The idea behind the project is to create a friendly and inclusive space for children from disadvantaged diverse communities with free access to professional football training. Football is known to increase the players’ overall physical performance, it teaches how to promote teamwork, it helps build up self-confidence and increases self-awareness. For those with true passion for football a financial pressure should never felt as an attack on their unexplored potential. We would like to become their defense line by coming forward with offering full concessionary fees, with the aspects of inclusion and mental health at the core of all the club related activities. We have already seen a positive response among our existing club members and their families who have shown a great interest in contributing towards our newly initiated Inclusion & Diversity Interwood Fund (IDIF) .

*HOW IT WORKS*

Anyone who joins our club this October, showing their recognition for Black History month, will automatically contribute 25% of their membership fee towards IDIF -the fund created to enable children from disadvantaged backgrounds the equal opportunities in sport ⚽️ The entire profit from the fund will be allocated and shared to a selected number of children who come forward showing their interest in football ⚽️,who we believe, would be otherwise left in a disadvantaged and vulnerable environment if left with their voices unheard and a further lack of support.

In return for your input ,Interwood F.C. will be delighted to offer the recognition badges and a further 25% off your child’s fee as a sign of our recognition and validation for your generosity while staying signed with the club.

Contributions to IDIF are also open to a wider community and all donations can be made in a fast and secure way through our fundraising campaign:
