Roland's Home Inspection Business
Hi, this is Roland.
Over the years, I have come to celebrate my passion for home remodeling and construction. Passing that knowledge along like my dad passed on to me, is why I am starting a Home Inspection and General Residential Contracting Company.
I think the first time I accompanied my dad to a job site, I must have been either eight or nine years old. While all of my friends were sleeping in on Saturday mornings and watching cartoons, I was either nailing black paper to the framing of a house, pulling nails from 2 x 4’s or mixing concrete. Little did I know that many years later all of this would serve me well. Among the many things my dad taught me was to take the time and do the job right, avoid cutting corners and treat each job as if it were your own house.
Fast forward to today and I have been busy re-inventing myself and getting ready to embark on my encore career; Home Inspector and General Residential Contractor. With an MBA from Willamette University and over thirty years of remodeling and construction experience along with twenty plus years in corporate America, the timing is perfect.
When inspecting a home, my top priority will be to ensure that potential buyers have an honest assessment of the home they are seriously considering. A key component that I will be offering in addition to the inspection will be Radon Testing.
Radon is a gas you cannot smell or taste but is with us every day. Within the Portland Metro, some neighborhoods have more Radon emitting from the ground than others. However, a vast majority of the population is unaware of the threat that Radon possesses. Once it forms into a solid and attaches itself within your body, it can lead to lung cancer and other serious health issues. Ever hear stories of people who never smoked in their life but have been diagnosed with lung cancer? Radon is usually the culprit.
Why Your Support Is Needed…
In order to properly start this business, I will need to purchase the following:
Professional Radon Devices-- (8-10 at $995 ea.)
Carry cases --(8-10 at $150 ea.)
Tripods-- (8-10 at $35 ea.)
Thermal camera--$2000
This equipment is expensive but will provide a valuable service and help put homeowners at ease knowing the air quality in their future home is safe.
Any amount you contribute is appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
