My name is Idalis and I am 17 years old. I am currently a senior and the Drumline Captain at our high school and will be attending college in the Fall. Drumline is a pretty big part of my life. My dedication and love for the activity has made me want to take my marching and playing to a higher level. I auditioned for the 2016 Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps season and earned a spot!
The auditions took place starting in December, and I was selected to fill one of the 150 performer spots in the corps! This is truly a blessing for me. As a young female selected to be in the tenor section, I feel this experience will help me improve my musicianship and leadership skills. This opportunity will definitely challenge me to become the best that I can be and would give me an opportunity to serve as a role model to other young aspiring female drummers. Pacific Crest is Southern California's World Class Drum and Bugle Corps. During the summer we will be touring the country for over two months. We will perform around the country in venues such as the Rose Bowl, Mile High Stadium, Alamo Stadium, the Indianapolis Colts Stadium and many more and can be seen in cinemas throughout U.S.
In order to keep my contract I would need to pay $3,700. This fee covers camp fees, airfare to fly back home, bus transportation, lodging and meals on tour, uniforms, instruments, equipment, production, and instruction. I have equal payments due every month until the final payment of June 1st. These will be difficult for me to pay since I am working towards attending college this Fall.
