ICU Nurse and Family - Travel and Funeral Cost

Hi, my name is Kelly Carson, and I'm the manager of a Cardiac Medical ICU in St. Louis, MO, where Mini Varghese works as a critical care nurse. Mini's son Joshua died in India on March 3, 2023, after a sudden illness. Joshua, who was a Christian singer, was 27 years old when he passed. I am fundraising for Mini and her family to help pay for funeral and travel expenses. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go to Mini and her family. Joshua's Home Going Service was held in India on Monday morning, March 6, 2023. Funeral and travel expenses are estimated to be approximately $16,000. Additional funds will be used to cover food, housing, and utilities for the family since Mini will be in India for an extended period of time.

Mini is an incredible nurse devoted to God and serving others. Her husband is a minister who also centers his life around helping others. Mini was the first international nurse hired by our facility in November 2020. Her international nurse contract ended at the end of 2022, and she joined our organization as a core staff member in January 2023. Because she was just hired permanently, Mini does not have any paid time off accrued to pay her salary while she is in India.

Mini came alone to the US, where she works as an ICU nurse to provide a better life for her family. She has served on the front lines during the COVID pandemic working in the COVID ICU, never once complaining or shying away from caring for her patients. Mini is a shining example of selflessness. The goal of this fundraiser is to provide support to Mini and her family during this challenging time. I hope to give back to Mini just a fraction of what she and her family have given to others through their service.
