ICU- Lucky to be alive

Hi, my name is LaVonne and I am fund raising for my sister, Lori. On Christmas Eve, Lori was sitting on a stool in her kitchen making Christmas cookies when she reached around to grab something from the counter top she lost her balance and fell off her stool landing directly onto her head. She was completely unconscious for over a minute. Lori was rushed to the emergency department where they determined she had a brain bleed. She was then transferred Advent Orlando ICU. While they were performing the surgery to release the pressure they discovered that she had a fractured skull, a broken artery and also ripped the lining of her brain. Lori is very fortunate to be alive. Unfortunately, she will not be able to work for the next 4 to 6 weeks. She will be working on her recovery. Lori does not have insurance or the kind of job that provides a disability. She gets paid by the job and if she does not work she does not get paid.
