In the title of "Memorable Golf Course Superintendents", the name Richard (Dick) Bator emerges.

You may not see him baptizing a team of rookies on the golf course, but he continues to advise, coach and inspire young superintendents in the industry which he loved for over 60 years. His character and dedication still dwell in this legendary man. His friend Judy of 25 years was diagnosed with dementia 2 years ago, and from that day forward changed the course of his life.

Besides witnessing his better half battle this terrible disease, he has put his consulting career aside to be her full-time caregiver. The constant care that comes with this diagnosis, medical expenses, pharmaceuticals, etc., have been unimaginable and unmanageable.

Dick Bator continues to be a renowned classic in all our lives. He has mentored many who will read this and inspires many who hear the stories he narrates.
