This year, I am taking part in the Great South Run to raise funds for a cause close to my heart and to honour my family’s journey.

When I was just a year old, my baby cousin passed away. Although I was too young to remember those moments, his memory has always been a part of my life. Growing up, I’ve seen how deeply this loss affected my family – especially my auntie – and how much strength it has taken for her to carry on through such a painful time.

I want to dedicate my run to him, to my auntie, and to the resilience of my family. This isn’t just about completing miles – it’s about walking in their footsteps, carrying their courage forward, and turning grief into something meaningful.

Every step I take in the Great South Run is in honour of my baby cousin’s memory, my auntie’s strength, and the bond that keeps my family together.
