Meet Trevor and David – Passionate Advocates for Men’s Health
Trev Lee from Fleckney and Dave Bromley based in Thorpe Langton, are not just keen aviators they’re dedicated campaigners for men’s health issues, especially prostate cancer awareness. Motivated by experiences with close friends they drive to make a real difference. Trev and Dave have raised nearly £9,000 for Prostate Cancer UK during their 2023 microlight adventure into the Arctic Circle. Their commitment stems from wanting to shine a light on a cause that impacts thousands of families across the UK every year.
The 2026 Expedition – An Ambitious North Atlantic Flight
This summer the duo will pilot their flexwing microlights from Wick Airport in northeast Scotland. Crossing 599 miles over the North Atlantic via the Faroe Islands, to Egilsstadir Airport in Iceland. The return journey doubles the challenge, with a total of nearly 1,200 miles flow
n in open-cockpit, single-engine aircraft. Braving unpredictable weather, cold temperatures, and the potential for engine failure or radio and navigation issues far from land, their journey is a true test of endurance, airmanship, and spirit.
Safety First – Rigorous Preparation and Support
Understanding the risks, Trev and Dave have invested heavily in preparation. They have equipped themselves with emergency beacons, they will be wearing thermal dry suits and have coordinated with air traffic control for emergency protocols. Their careful planning ensures they are as ready as possible for every challenge the North Atlantic might present.
