Iceland Biking Challenge for Blood Cancer
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Courtney and my beautiful wife is Carly. We are biking in an amazing ultra race called the Westfjords Way Challenge this June to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Carly and I have zero experience with long-distance biking and this ultra distance, 600miles in 5 days, race around incredible exposed fjords in one of the last untouched wildernesses, is going to be a huge challenge!
Raising money for Leukemia and Lymphoma research is incredibly close to my heart. I lost my father in December 2018, after a nearly 5 year battle with both Lymphoma and Leukemia. Every time he beat one cancer, another would show its ugly head. He fought until the very end and I’m so proud and grateful for that.
In memory of both my dad, Randy Petersen, and my grandfather who also passed away from blood cancer- Carly and I will be combining our love for pushing our limits in nature and advancing the research for curing blood cancer!
We have never done an event like this before and have almost exactly 5 months to the day to get ready. We will update as we progress through the training and of course, the race- with videos and pictures. I plan to create a blog page and will share when it is up and running.

100% donations go to https://www.lls.org/
We hope this inspires you to take on something that seems absolutely ‘crazy’ and illogical to those around you. Losing a parent before they had a chance to retire has had a profound influence on how I view this wonderful, fleeting life. Don’t waste another minute! Let us know what you’re doing in your life to leave with no regrets and make a difference.
Thank you for your support!
