Ice Hockey Team at University of Houston

Donation protected
Ice hockey is one of the fastest-growing sports in North America and is slowly but surely expanding into the southern United States. With a student body of over 47,000 the University of Houston is the third-largest university in the state of Texas and the largest one without a club ice hockey team.

We have been admitted into the ACHA as a Division II independent club, however, all sports clubs at UH in their first year are listed as "probationary". Therefore, we do not receive any funding from the university and will be on our own for funding. This is a student-run organization so it's very difficult for us to fund this on our own as full-time students.

Donations will be used for:
  • Reserving ice time for practices and games at ice rinks in Houston
  • Transportation, lodging, and other necessary travel expenses for road games
  • Providing the necessary equipment for newcomers interested in learning to play
  • League entry fees

As a current undergraduate student who came down here from Minnesota, otherwise known as the "state of hockey", I would love nothing more than to grow the game down here in the city of Houston and give my university another sport to cheer for and support. I will be a senior this coming fall and would love to lace up my skates one last time, hopefully, while also making a positive impact on growing the game of ice hockey down here. We have made substantial progress these last few months getting this team together and need your help to make this possible! Go Coogs!
