Tax deductible
The iCan Technical Theater Internship Program at the THEARC in Washington, D.C, S.E. helps the youth in Wards 7 and 8 be exposed to what it feels like to "put on a show." This program gives an opportunity for youth ages 15-22 to expand their desire to work in technical theater and give opportunities in production arts and hospitality. The interns in this program can help produce productions. This includes working in lighting design, sound engineering, projection, stage management, house management, costume design, scenic design, stage crew, and front of house staff.
Donations to this program will help fund the annual iCan College and Production Tour. This College and Production tour helps introduce interns to higher education within the field of technical theater. With your support, funding will ensure 19 interns to travel during this college and production tour to colleges and also, other technical theater companies such as the Fox Theatre, University of North Carolina, Woodruff Performing Arts Center, Virginia State University, and Screen Gems Studios. Also, your support will help give a scholarship to our interns who are applying to go to college. With your donation, we can ensure our interns can experience working in the technical theater field and are given the opportunity to go to many great places.
