Dear all,
Please consider donating to my little brother. He is in need and we have tried our best to cover half the cost and we are still of a minmium of $15,000 for the hospital to even consider giving him even antibiotics or operate on him. I have the story of my brother and many other Palestinian refugees below:
"Let me tell you a story of personal struggles of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon who were born and raised there but removed from the common rights of any human beings in the country of birth. My little brother just got admitted to the hospital as he was hit wrongfully by a truck driver. He has a punctured lung with shattered arm and shoulder with several injuries across his body. Being a Palestinian refugee in Lebanon usually does not allow Palestinians to hold the right to work as citizens which forces Palestinians to work with minimal health coverage. My brother is extremely intelligent, hard working, and ambitious young fellow who is similarly to other Palestinians are struggling with the sense of belonging and the burdens of holding the refugee status in a country that he was born and raised in. Although the truck that wrongly hit him had insurance, the insurance company is playing the gambling game of what is covered and not covered. Mind you that my brother was on his motorcycle and he was struck from the back of his motorcycle with the truck driving over his body. Now, the hospital wants to "literally throw" my brother away as the insurance refuses to pay more than 40% knowing that he has a punctured lung with broken ribs. The hospital refuses to provide him with treatment and as Palestinian refugees, we do not qualify for any medical assistance. My family has been in the hospital for days trying to get the hospital to treat him and no other hospital will take him in without an advanced payment and full coverage. Any known party who provides financial assistance has refused to talk to my family and rather insulted them stating that they do not provide any help for Palestinian refugees despite the fact that we considered Lebanese due to extended family heritage. My elderly parents have raised us to praise struggles and raise up above all but I have to admit that common human decency has been greatly lacking when needed. The world is full of misfortunes but the struggles and decaying conditions of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon have dated for over 9 decades with no relief in sight for them due to simply a choice there were never given!!! I truly think that activism is needed at all times to overturn the cruelty that Palestinian refugees in Lebanon have to face on daily basis."
